Rose-Marie
and Jean Pierre Vassal welcome you to the Logis de Sainte
Croix , in the picturesque mediaval city of Josselin, South
Brittany . – Each of our gites can accommodate 4 people
and have received the “Cle Vacances 2” quality
accomodation standard . 2 gites are disabled –friendly
with wheelchair access .
We’re open all year round !
We are in Sainte Croix, the oldest part of the mediaval town
of Josselin, one of Brittany’s “Petite Cité
de caractère”(Small town of historical interest)
dominated by the impressive Rohan Castle founded in the XIc,
with its doll’s museum, its XI c chapel and the Nantes
to Brest canal crossing the city .
Our gites are ideally located in the peace and quiet whilst
a short walk to the many bars, restaurants, shops, the chateau
and the weekly Saturday market held in the town centre.
We have 2 new build gites
of 75 m² each , fitted to accomodate disabled people
/wheelchairs (if necessary).
They are tastefully decorated and equipped to a good standard
with a main lounge/dinning room, an open plan fully fitted
kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a shower room, separate WC.
The third gite with all modern comfort, is in the converted
farm (dating from the XVIIc)
of the former priory where monks lived for centuries.
While staying at Logis de Sainte Croix, you may catch sight
of the mischievous squirrel making provisions of nuts for
the winter or wild rabbits having a treat in the vegetable
patch at dusk .
Among other activites at Logis de Sainte Croix, you can try
your hands at modeling (planes, boats, trains …)

We are located in the the old area of Sainte Croix in Josselin,
in the former priory next to the XIc chapel . Josselin is classified
“Petite cité de Caractère” (Small
city of historical interest) with many old stone, half-timbered
and timber framed houses, the oldest dating back to 1538. Located
in the beautiful Oust Valley, its main feature is the Chateau
des Rohan built on the hillside which houses the Doll Museum
in the converted stables . Certainly one of the most beautiful
inland area of Brittany where remains the past splendour tied
to the presence of powerful local lords with a substantial ancient
architectural heritage miles around . The many forests, woods,
lakes, streams and footpaths along the Oust river, will add
on to an enchanting stay . |
